By default, new routes use a driver's base marker, which is defined on the Edit Driver dialog under Details > Based At, as both the start and end locations for that driver. If you have the appropriate option available in your account, you can also define a secondary location for a driver. This location can be any of the markers that are available in your account and, once set, you can define whether this secondary location should be used as either the start or end depot for this driver's routes. The two locations (the base marker and the secondary location) must be within the same territory.
To use a secondary location for a driver:
-
From the Main section of the navigation bar choose Drivers.
-
Click on the driver's name. The Edit Driver dialog box opens.
-
Select the Shift tab.
-
In the Secondary Location section, select the Use a Secondary Location check box.
-
In the Location drop-down box, select the marker that you want to use as a secondary location. This must be different from the driver's base marker and both markers must be within the same territory. The list contains only those markers in the territories that you have permission to access. If the marker you want to add is not listed, contact your administrator.
-
In the Use as drop-down box, select whether the secondary location should be the start or end depot for this driver's routes.
-
Click Save.
When building routes for this driver, the start and end location are automatically set to match the locations that have been defined for the driver under Details > Based At and Shift > Secondary Location > Location.
When you create a new route for this driver, the start and end depot locations are automatically set to the driver's base marker and secondary location:
