After a route has been built, you might want to reverse the order in which its jobs are scheduled to occur. For example, you might want deliveries that take place in congested CBD areas to occur at the end of the route rather than at the beginning, or vice versa. You can quickly reverse the order of jobs in a route using the steps described below.
Note
Note that this operation can only be performed on routes with a status of either 'Not Started' or 'In Progress', and that all jobs are reversed, not simply a selection within the route. In addition, only the order of jobs is reversed: not the start or end depots. If a route has already started, and any of its jobs have been completed or are underway, the order of these jobs is not affected. Only those jobs that have not started, or jobs with a status of 'En Route' or 'Missed', will be re-ordered.
To reverse the order of jobs on a route:
-
Use the date control in the upper left corner of the Jobs List panel to select the date of the routes to reverse. You can also change day using the left and right arrows to move ahead or back one day at a time:
-
Select a checkbox beside every route you want to reverse from the Daily Routes list. If you do not select individual routes, the reversal operation is performed on all routes in the Daily Routes panel that meet the suitability criteria for job order reversal.
-
Click the Reverse Routes button
in the upper left hand corner of the Daily Routes panel. Once clicked, the order of any future jobs, and any jobs with a status of en route or missed, within the selected routes is reversed. The cost of all affected routes is also recalculated, and changes in individual route cost indicated under the Cost column with a green or red background color to indicate a decrease or increase in cost.
