Before Starting

Before you use the Installer to verify an installation, make sure you do the following:

Install the device into the vehicle

Follow the instructions provided with the device’s hardware kit to physically install it into the vehicle. Note that the instructions will vary, depending on the type of device you are installing.
Turn the ignition on

After you connect the device to the vehicle, turn on the vehicle’s ignition, so that you can verify the installation.
Write down the device's ESN or serial number

To use the Installer app, you must be able enter the device’s ESN or serial number, so that you can verify the installation.
