Before you can communicate with your drivers using mobile messaging, they must be correctly configured. Typically, you configure these details when you add drivers to the account, but you can edit driver details to add this information at a later time, if necessary.
To configure the default global messaging setting (enabling or disabling support for mobile messaging):
-
Open the Settings dialog and select the Mobile Defaults tab (only available if your account includes support for mobile apps).
-
Scroll down to the Messaging section and click the Messaging field drop-down arrow to expand the menu.
-
Select the "On" or "Off" option.
-
Click Save. Any drivers configured to use the default global messaging settings will then use this option when they next log in (or update with the server).
To configure an individual driver's details to enable support for WorkPlan messaging:
-
Open the Driver details dialog and select the Verizon Connect Mobile tab (only available if your account includes support for WorkPlan).
-
Scroll down to the Messaging section and click the Messaging field drop-down arrow to expand the menu.
-
Select "On" or "Use Account Default (On)", if available. The latter option is the default global messaging setting. Refer to the procedure above for guidance on how to configure the default global messaging setting.
-
If you are adding a new driver, select the Details tab, click the Based At field drop-down arrow, then select the base location for the driver from the menu.
-
Click Save.
