The History tab is displayed below or to the right of the main map. If the history tab is not visible, you can display it using the list view controls in the Map toolbar. The history tab lets you view timelines, which summarize history information for one or more vehicles. It also lets you add or remove vehicle histories and control various aspects of the history display.
-
History Layer: The History Layer check box lets you toggle whether the map shows history trails for the vehicles you are watching or the current status of your vehicles with no history information.
-
Date controls: The date controls let you specify the time period of the history. To select a day type into the edit box or click the drop-down arrow to open a calendar. If there is currently a date selected you can click the arrow controls to move forward or backward by one day.
-
Icon control: The icon control lets you specify which icons are displayed on history trails on the map. The options are:
-
All Events: Show all icons for the position and status of each vehicle for every event in the entire period of the history.
-
Current Only: Show a single icon for the position and status of the vehicle under the cursor in the timeline.
-
Key Events: Show the icons for every point where a vehicle changed its status during the period of the history (and, on driver histories, where the driver submitted a form).
-
Trail Only: Show only the route taken by each vehicle on the day of the history. The trail is shown by an animated line of dashes. The dashes move in the direction that the vehicle moved. The color of the trail is the color of the square that is displayed to the left of the corresponding history timeline.
-
Color By: The Color By control lets you specify how the timeline is colored, so that you can highlight different types of information. The options are:
-
Unit Status: Sections of the timeline are colored to indicate the status of each vehicle (moving, idle, stopped, or no signal). The colors for each status are configurable, and match the status colors of used in vehicle clusters on the map. By default, the colors are green for moving, red for stopped, blue for idle, and yellow for no signal.
Note
When using the "Color By Unit Status" option with AEMP vehicles, stopped vehicles are shown on the timeline with a light gray, rather than red, background. Likewise, GPS points in AEMP history timelines are also shown in gray.
-
Marker color: The status colors on the timeline are dimmed, and the marker icons that indicate when the vehicle stopped at a marker are displayed in the color associated with the marker type.
-
Warnings: The status colors on the timeline are dimmed, and any time the vehicle generated a warning is displayed in red, so that you can quickly locate and examine these problem points.
-
Congregation: The status colors on the timeline are dimmed. Points when two or more vehicles are stopped within 170 feet (50 meters) of each other. All vehicles that are stopped in proximity to each other are given the same congregation color. If another vehicle joins a congregation, the color changes to a new congregation color. Similarly, if a vehicle leaves a congregation, the color changes to a new congregation color.
