Use the following procedure to add a single vehicle to a scenario. To add several vehicles at once, use an import file (see Importing and Exporting Vehicles). If you have already created vehicles and you want to edit their details, see Editing Vehicles.
To create a vehicle:

Open the list menu in the upper left corner of the List panel and select the Vehicles option. The Vehicles list opens.

Click the Create Vehicle button
on the List panel tool bar. Alternatively, click the More button
in the upper right corner of the List panel and select the Create Vehicle option. The Vehicle dialog box opens.

Enter the relevant vehicle details under each tab in the Vehicle dialog box:

Overview: Specify the basic information about the vehicle, including its ID, name, start and end location, and its anticipated driving speed.

Vehicle Information: Describe the vehicle's running costs and expected time on site values.

Vehicle Specification: Describe the vehicle type, its physical height and weight, and its hazmat load type.

Capacity: Specify the vehicle's maximum number of jobs, and load capacity per route.

Tags: Add tags for specific attributes that the vehicle possesses and that may be required by a route, for example PTO or refrigeration capabilities.

Requirements: Add tags for requirements that the vehicle must possess for routes using this vehicle to build successfully.

Custom Properties: Add your own customer-defined data fields to the vehicle, which are shown on the Vehicles list and can be used to sort the grid.

The Overview tab lets you add the following information:
-
Vehicle ID: The unique ID used to identify this vehicle.
-
Vehicle Name: The name of the vehicle.
-
Vehicle Type: The vehicle type, for example "Automobile" or "Straight Truck".
-
Routing Entity ID: A unique identifier.
-
Start/End Location: The default location where this vehicle starts and ends all routes.
-
Existing Marker: Select the marker for an existing location or leave this field blank to create a new marker with the address details below.

Address: The street address for the vehicle's default start and end location.
-
Country: The country for the vehicle's default start and end location.
-
Location: The WGS84 latitude and longitude coordinate pair for the vehicle's start and end location. You can add this as an alternative to the address or existing marker. For existing markers, the location is automatically filled.

Driving Speed %: The percentage of the speed at which this vehicle is expected to travel. This percentage takes into account traffic and other factors slowing the vehicle down. The default percentage is 100.
The Vehicle Information tab lets you add the following information:

Vehicle Cost

Fixed Cost: The fixed cost of using this vehicle in US$.

Cost Per Mile: The cost per mile of driving this vehicle in US$.

Vehicle Strategy
-
Same-side routing: Whether this vehicle is required to approach job locations on the same side of the road as the site entrance. If enabled, the vehicle is prevented from crossing oncoming lanes of traffic when entering the site.

Ferries: Whether this vehicle is allowed to use ferry crossings. If enabled, ferry crossings are permitted on routes for this vehicle.

Time On Site

Start Location: The time on site required at the start location of a route for loading or preparing this vehicle. In a synchronized scenario, this setting is pre-filled with the equivalent setting defined under Vehicles > Edit Vehicle > Vehicle Information. In a detached scenario, this setting is pre-filled with the equivalent setting defined under Scenario Settings > Routing Settings.

End Location: The time on site required at the end location of a route for unloading this vehicle. In a synchronized scenario, this setting is pre-filled with the equivalent setting defined underVehicles>Edit Vehicle>Vehicle Information. In a detached scenario, this setting is pre-filled with the equivalent setting defined underScenario Settings>Routing Settings.

Mid-Route Depot: The time on site required for this vehicle when returning to a depot during a mid-route return to depot stop in order to load, unload, or prepare the vehicle. In a synchronized scenario, this setting is pre-filled with the equivalent setting defined underVehicles>Edit Vehicle>Vehicle Information. In a detached scenario, this setting is pre-filled with the equivalent setting defined underScenario Settings>Routing Settings.

The Vehicle Specification tab lets you override the default vehicle specifications defined as part of the scenario settings. It makes sure that this vehicle does not get included on routes where these restrictions would get violated. The available specifications are:

Dimensions

Length: The length of the vehicle.
-
Width: The width of the vehicle.
-
Height: The height of the vehicle.
-
Kingpin to last axle: The length of the vehicle from the kingpin to the last axle.

Weight
-
Gross weight: The weight of the vehicle including its load.
-
Unladen weight: The weight of the vehicle excluding its load.
-

Attributes
-
Number of axles: The vehicle's number of axles.
-
Number of wheels: The vehicle's number of wheels.
-
Number of trailers: The vehicle's number of trailers.
-

Override Hazmat Load Types: Select additional hazmat types that this vehicle may carry in addition to the hazmat types that are already defined in the scenario settings.
The Capacity tab lets you add the following information:

Max jobs: The maximum number of jobs that this vehicle can service on a single route.

Load Capacity: The total amount of load that the vehicle can deliver in a single route. The load is an arbitrary measure and can be used to represent any type of unit, for example cases, pallets, boxes, or containers.
The Tags tab lets you add special attributes that the vehicle possesses; for example, the ability to carry specialized equipment or certain types of loads. Vehicle tags are defined on the Vehicles tab of the Tags screen.
To add a tag, start typing the name of the tag and then do either of the following:

Select the tag from the list.

Enter the complete name and press the Tab key on your keyboard.
You can enter more than one tag. To remove a tag, click the 'x' button next to the item.
The Requirements tab lets you add the following information:

Driver Tags: Tags that the driver assigned to this vehicle must possess so that routes using the vehicle build successfully.
To add a tag, start typing the name of the tag and then do either of the following:

Select the tag from the list.

Enter the complete name and press the Tab key on your keyboard.
You can enter more than one tag. To remove a tag, click the 'x' button next to the item.

The Custom Properties tab lets you add the following information:

Name: The name of a custom property. These arbitrary properties are not used for optimizing routes, but are added as columns to the Vehicles list, and can be useful for sorting and filtering purposes. For example, you could use these properties to specify additional data not included by default in Scenarios, such as the vehicle type or a summary of the vehicle's service history. These values can then be sorted in the grid by clicking the column header. Click the Add Property button to add a new Name and Value pair, or delete the content of an existing property pair and then click Save to remove them.

Value: The value of the custom property.
