The Diagnostic InSight Alerts page of the Install Types screen lets you specify thresholds for the various inputs of the install type. These thresholds determine the background color of the corresponding columns in the vehicles list, and can be used to define or edit InSight Alerts based on values from the input. This page has two sub-pages: one for analog inputs and one for digital inputs.
Note
The thresholds you define on this page are based on normalized input readings (where the units have been adjusted), not the raw input values. The Map Inputs page indicates which generic inputs are available and how they are normalized.
The Analog Inputs page lists all of the analog inputs for the selected device type of the current install type. These include both the generic inputs whose mappings are listed on the Map Inputs page and any hard-coded diagnostic inputs that are always available for the device type. For each input value, you can specify two ranges: a "yellow" range, and a "red" range. By specifying two ranges, you can differentiate between the severity of input values that are outside the desired range.
For each input type:
-
Click the setting in the Enabled column of the red or yellow alert. The value becomes a check box, which you can select if you want to specify a set of thresholds that input values are compared against.
-
Once an input type is enabled for a color (red or yellow), you can enter a Minimum and Maximum value to define a range of values. Input readings outside this range will trigger an InSight Alert of the specified color and the background of columns in the vehicles list for this input change to red or yellow when readings are outside the defined range. If you want the alert to occur when input readings are inside the defined range, rather than when they are outside the defined range, select the check box in the Inverted column.
-
When you have set up the ranges you want, click Save. Input ranges do not take effect until you click Save.
Tip
If the list of input types is long, enter all or part of the input name in the Filter field to locate a specific input.
If you already generated an InSight Alert for an input (by selecting the Enabled check box and saving), you can edit the InSight Alert. To do this, select the row for the input then click Edit Yellow Alert or Edit Red Alert. These buttons navigate you to the Setup InSight Alerts screen with the appropriate alert selected.
The Digital Inputs page lists all of the digital inputs for the selected device type of the current install type. These include both the generic inputs whose mappings are listed on the Map Inputs page and any hard-coded diagnostic inputs that are always available for the device type. For each input value, you can specify two types of alerts: a "yellow" alert, and a "red" alert.
For each input type:
-
Click the setting in the Enabled column of the red or yellow alert. The value becomes a check box, which you can select if you want to specify an alert for when this input is "on".
-
When an input type is enabled for a color (red or yellow), the alert triggers when the input value is "on" (high). If you want the alert to trigger when the input value is "off" (ground), select the check box in the Inverted column. For example, typically, seatbelt alerts are triggered when the seatbelt is not on.
-
When you have set up the alerts you want, click Save. When you click Save, a new InSight Alert is defined for the input, and the background color for the input column in the vehicles list reflects the color of the alert when the input reading is not at the desired setting.
