The Diagnostic Parameters page of the Install Types screen lets you specify how inputs from the install type are displayed in reports, and diagnostic parameters on the Vehicles List, the Map and in vehicle Histories. This page has two sub-pages: one for analog inputs and one for digital inputs.
Note
The ranges you define on this page are based on normalized input readings (where the units have been adjusted), not the raw input values. The Map Inputs page indicates which generic inputs are available and how they are normalized.
The Analog Inputs page lists all of the analog inputs for the selected device type of the current install type. These include both the generic inputs whose mappings are listed on the Map Inputs page and any hard-coded diagnostic inputs that are always available for the device type.
To configure a diagnostic input click the values in its row then enter new values in the text box that opens. If the input is not enabled, only the Enabled column can be edited.
Caution
When specifying values to define a range, you must always use a dot as a decimal separator (for example, 3.14). Although the values are displayed using the format you specify, they can only be parsed using the culture settings of the server.
Each analog input lets you set the following values:
Enabled: |
Select the check box ("yes") to indicate that you are interested in information from this input, or clear the check box ("no") to indicate that you are not using readings from this input. |
Given Name: |
Enter the name that is used to identify this diagnostic parameter in lists (such as the Asset Types screen or the vehicles list), histories, and reports. |
Range Low: |
If you want to monitor that readings fall within a specified range, enter the low value of the range. This is the low value after readings are converted to display units. |
Range High: |
If you want to monitor that readings fall within a specified range, enter the high value of the range. This is the high value after readings are converted to display units. |
Format: |
Specify the way input readings are formatted for display. |
Show in History: |
Indicate if the input readings are included in histories. |
Handling: |
Specify when readings from this input should be included in histories and reports. Possible values are:

On Name: |
Specify the name that indicates the value of this input when it is "On". |
Off Name: |
Specify the name that indicates the value of this input when it is "Off". |
Show in History: |
Indicate if the input readings will be included in histories. |
Handling: |
Specify when readings from this input should be included in histories and reports. Possible values are:
|
Only While Stopped: |
Only monitor input readings when the vehicle is stopped (not moving and ignition off). |
Off If Ignition Off: |
Always treat the input reading as "Off" when the ignition is off. |
Productive: |
The input is a productive input (the vehicle is working when the input is on). |
