If you are currently in the US, you can share your HOS logs with the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration) or send them to a personal email address.
If you are currently in Canada, you can send your HOS logs to a Canadian safety official or send them to a personal email address.
If you are in the US, you can send your HOS logs to the FMCSA via email or data upload.
To share your HOS logs with the FMCSA:
-
Go to the Event List screen and tap in the upper right corner. This opens the Share Data screen:
-
Select the radio button below EMAIL OR UPLOAD TO FMCSA. By default, your logs are uploaded to the FMCSA, rather than sent by email.
-
To send your HOS logs to the FMCSA by email, tap Upload to FMCSA, select Email to FMCSA, and then tap Done.
-
Type a note, if required, into the text area below ADD A NOTE. If the roadside inspector has provided you with a safety official or investigation code, enter this as the note. Make sure that the note is no longer than 60 characters.
-
Tap Send Logs.
When you are in Canada, you can email your HOS logs to a Canadian safety official. Using the option EMAIL LOGS TO CANADIAN OFFICIALS requires you to enter the official’s email address and encrypts your HOS logs for secure transfer.
We recommend that you have a connection to a vehicle when you are sending your logs. If you do not have a connection to a vehicle, your logs will be incomplete.
To email your HOS logs to a Canadian safety official:
-
Go to the Event List screen and tap in the upper right corner. This opens the Share Data screen:
-
Select the radio button below EMAIL LOGS TO CANADIAN OFFICIALS.
-
Enter the official's email address.
-
Type a note, if required, into the text area below ADD A NOTE. If the roadside inspector has provided you with a safety official or investigation code, enter this as the note. Make sure that the note is no longer than 60 characters.
-
Tap Send Logs.
You can send your HOS logs to a personal email address. Do not use this method to send your logs to the FMCSA (in the US) or to a Canadian safety official (in Canada) because this method does not encrypt your logs.
To send your HOS logs to a personal email address:
-
Go to the Event List screen and tap in the upper right corner. This opens the Share Data screen.
-
Select the radio button below EMAIL LOGS TO PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS.
-
Enter a valid email address in the text box next to the radio button.
-
If you want to change the time frame for the logs to share in an email, tap the currently selected time frame and select a new time frame. In the US, the default time frame for shared logs is one week. In Canada, the default time frame is two weeks.
-
Type a note, if required, into the text area below ADD A NOTE.
-
Tap Send Logs.
