Note
The routing settings on this page are available, and applicable, only if your account includes a subscription for Verizon Connect® Response™, Verizon Connect® Dispatch™, Verizon Connect® Scenarios™, or the Navigation by Verizon Connect mobile app.
The Routing Settings page includes information that specifies the routing behavior of the vehicle, the physical dimensions of the vehicle, and the HAZMAT load types it is configured to carry:
Same-side Routing: |
Indicates whether the vehicle must approach stops on the same side of the road as the entrance to the stop destination. When enabled, routes for this vehicle ensures that the vehicle is on the correct side of the road to enter the stop location by turning off the road (that is, with the stop on the right side of the road in territories where vehicles drive on the right, such as the US and vice versa for traffic territories in which vehicles drive on the left, such as the UK). |
U-turns: |
Indicates whether the vehicle is allowed to cross oncoming lanes at the end of a route to reach a stop, but only if the additional time or distance required to execute an alternative maneuver (traveling around the block, for example) is deemed too high. This option is disabled automatically if the 'Same-side routing' option is enabled as u-turns must be permitted when using same side routing. |
Toll roads: |
Indicates whether the vehicle is allowed to travel on roads that require payment for passage (along a turnpike, for example). |
Ferries: |
Indicates whether the vehicle is allowed to travel on ferries. When disabled, travel is only permitted along standard land-based road networks. |
Vehicle type: |
Describes the vehicle type classification; for example, taxi emergency vehicle, or truck. This information is used to determine the roadways that the vehicle is permitted to use. When set to 'Inherit', the vehicle settings are inherited from those specified on the 'Routing Defaults' tab of the main 'Settings' dialog box. If set to 'Automobile', all other vehicle settings are disabled. |
