A "posted speed sign event" triggers when a vehicle exceeds the speed limit by more than 10 MPH within eight seconds of passing a speed sign.
When the camera detects this behavior, the system takes the following actions:
- Alerts the driver: An immediate in-cab alert sounds to help the driver correct their speed (if enabled).
- Captures a video event: Fleet records the event in the Video tab. You can review these videos later to coach your drivers on safe driving habits.
Unlike camera-reliant posted speed sign events, speeding alerts use vehicle tracker GPS data to notify you when drivers exceed specific speed limits or margins.
This video shows a captured speeding event with an audio in-cab alert.
