The additional pick-up and drop-off functionality allows you to define more than one depot along a route from where your drivers pick up or drop off items for a job. When using this functionality, you can define markers as additional depots and then specify whether the depots need to be visited before a job (pre-job) or after a job (post-job).
Some of the use cases for this feature include:
-
Defining which warehouse to pick up items from if a company has a number of different warehouses.
-
Defining which warehouse to drop off items at if a company has a number of different warehouses.
All Dispatch and Scenarios customers have access to this feature but must enable it in the Fleet settings to be able to use it.
To use the additional pick-up and drop-off functionality, you must enable the feature in the Fleet settings.
If you are a Scenarios user, follow these instructions on how to create additional depots and define whether to visit the markers before or after a job. The process is different depending on whether you are using a detached or synchronized scenario.
If you are a Dispatch user, follow these instructions on how to create additional depots and define whether to visit the markers before or after a job.
Multi-depot pick-ups and drop-offs work in conjunction with any capacity metrics you currently have in use. If your territory has the setting Return to Nearest Depot enabled and a vehicle reaches capacity, then the vehicle will return to the nearest depot that satisfies the job’s requirements defined under Pre-Job Depot Tags or Post-Job Depot Tags.
