Welcome to the Response What's New page.
This topic lists information about previous releases of Verizon Connect® Response™ and what has been improved and / or fixed in each version.
The current release is 7.7. Information regarding this release can be found below.
-
Updated the appearance of all Verizon Connect® Response™ UI elements to reflect the latest Verizon Connect platform design language.
-
Updated the jobs list, removing the previous yellow territory selection warning, and adding a new information message to the body of the list when it is empty (that is, when a territory has not yet been selected).
-
Removed the Jobs button (
) from the map toolbar, and added the Jobs and Jobs Gantt Chart options to the main menu system, under the Main section. These buttons directly open the Jobs and Jobs Gantt Chart tabs on the Map tab in full list view.
-
Updated the date and time formats used in Verizon Connect® Response™ when a range of dates extends across two years, or when a job is scheduled to occur in the following year. These dates will now be formatted to include the year (for example "Dec 31, 2015 11:45 PM-Jan 1, 2016 1:15").
-
Updated the behavior of the Go To dialog when searching for jobs. A territory must now be chosen from the Fleet selector before searching for a job within that territory.
-
Updated the text shown in the 'Custom Job Properties' field on the Jobs tab of the main Settings dialog. This text now indicates that the user must type in the field, not simply click in it.
-
Updated the 'Dispatch' link on the Find Nearest Vehicle dialog. This link has been renamed to 'Routing' to maintain consistency with the rest of the platform.
-
Updated the 'Warnings' column (!) of the Jobs tab to correctly sort in either ascending or descending order.
-
Updated the jobs list to remember the previous position and width of columns when re-opened.
-
Updated the Jobs gantt chart search filter to function on all pages, not just the first page.
-
Improved the accuracy of job address locations when a marker does not already exist at the job location. Previously, the latitude and longitude of the location were used when selecting an address with the address selector tool, which could result in a neighboring address incorrectly being used as the job address.
-
Added support for displaying custom job data columns on the Jobs tab. When available, the display of these columns can also be configured using the Job List tab on the Settings dialog.
-
A fault that could allow the same unassigned job to be dispatched to two different drivers by opening two instances of the Dispatch Job dialog has been corrected.
-
Removed the ability to dispatch jobs to the obsolete mobile application Verizon Connect® Workforce Mobile.
-
Updated the behavior of the Dispatch Job dialog after the Dispatch button is pressed. A 'Loading' status message will now display, and the Dispatch button will be disabled, preventing the accidental selection of another driver before the process has completed.
-
Updated date and time formats used in Verizon Connect® Response™ to be consistent with the formatting used elsewhere in the platform. Days and months are now displayed as three letters (eg. 'Mon', 'Tue', 'Jan', 'Dec'), and single calendar dates will be shown as single digits (eg '2 Jan' rather than '02 Jan'). The current date will now always be shown as 'Today', and the year will only be included if it is different from the current year. 12-hour formatted times will no longer be zero padded (eg '7:30 AM' not '07:30 AM') while 24-hour formatted times will always be zero padded (eg. '02:30').
-
Corrected the ordering of drivers on the Dispatch Job dialog. These are now correctly ordered by their distance to the job location (as shown under the Distance column).
-
A problem that could prevent the list of jobs in the selected route from being visible on the Route Jobs tab of the Route Details dialog has been corrected. One column on this tab will now always be configured as visible, preventing the list from being completely hidden.
-
Added the new role right 'Can create new jobs'. This feature is used to specify the user roles that can create new jobs. This option is configured from the Roles screen under the main platform Tasks menu section. See the 'Roles Screen' page in the platform help for more details.
-
The time format (12- or 24-hour) used on the Add Job dialog will now correctly match the time format configured for the current user (that is, from the User tab of the Settings dialog accessed from the top right-hand corner of the platform).
-
A problem that stopped jobs being sorted alphabetically by route name on the Map screen has been fixed.
-
New 'Preferred Driver', 'Tags', 'Driver Requires' and 'Vehicle Requires' columns are now available in the Jobs tab for suitably configured accounts (accounts with a subscription to Verizon Connect® Dispatch™). These options have also been added to the Job List tab on the Settings dialog.
-
Added the new 'ETA', 'Estimated Arrival Variance' and 'Estimated Time to Arrival' columns to the Route Jobs tab of the Route Details dialog.
-
The Jobs Gantt Chart now consistently displays jobs at their correct chart positions during daylight savings time.
-
A problem that resulted in unnecessary database transactions, which could in turn result in slow mapping performance, has been fixed.
-
The 'ETA' column on the Route Jobs tab of the Route Details dialog is now visible in all correctly configured accounts. Previously, this column could be set to a width of less than 0 pixels. This is no longer possible.
-
The Edit and Delete buttons will no longer remain visible on the Marker Details dialog if the marker has been deleted.
-
Removed the column sorting function from the Dispatch Job dialog. This dialog automatically sorts drivers by proximity to the job location, making the manual sorting feature unnecessary.
-
The Route Details dialog will no longer display the vehicle assignment from the previously viewed route if the route has not yet been assigned to a vehicle.
-
Vehicles whose base markers are updated will no longer take several minutes to be moved to their new territories.
-
The filter tool above the main map on the Map screen will now provide suggestions when searching for unnamed routes (for example route:" or driver.job.route:").
-
An exception that could be thrown after dispatching a job, then attempting to find the nearest vehicle (by clicking a current job, then the 'Find nearest vehicles' menu option on the Dispatch Job dialog), has been corrected.
-
A problem that stopped jobs being ordered alphabetically by route name on the Vehicles screen has been fixed.
-
Verizon Connect® Progression™ has been renamed, and is now known as Verizon Connect® Response™.
-
Added the new 'ETA' column to the Jobs and Vehicles lists, and to the Job information balloon shown when hovering over a job on the Jobs Gantt Chart, in suitably configured accounts.
-
Improved and simplified the text description shown at the top of the Jobs list when a territory has not yet been selected.
-
Removed the obsolete 'Canceled' and 'Reordered' job status options from the Jobs tab of the Settings dialog.
-
Removed the 'ToDo' value from the 'Status' property of the 'ApiJobStatus' API object.
-
The 'now' vertical bar on the Jobs Gantt Chart now updates in real-time rather than requiring a manual refresh.
-
Jobs dialog mini-maps now refresh correctly after dispatching a job, indicating that the job is no longer unassigned.
-
Colors used by job clusters are now updated dynamically when they are edited, rather than only after the Map tab is closed and then re-opened.
-
The 'loading' notification shown when changing pages on the Jobs Gantt Chart no longer disappears before the operation has completed.
-
The main map now correctly displays the vehicle used for a job when filtering on vehicle.driver.job.name.
-
Job priorities shown when opening the 'Priority' drop-down menu on the Edit Job dialog are now listed in the correct order.
-
Units of distance shown on the Distance column of the Dispatch Job dialog have been abbreviated (for example from 'Kilometers' to 'km').
-
Increasing the width of the Routes column on the Jobs Gantt Chart no longer causes alignment problems in Internet Explorer 11.
-
The Jobs Gantt Chart now displays multi-day jobs correctly. Previously, only the first day of the route was shown on the chart.
-
Filtering vehicle clusters for customers on the map now works correctly, without throwing an exception.
-
Routes for the selected day now appear on the Jobs Gantt Chart immediately after changing the date. Previously, they could take some time to appear.
-
The 'Actual' date shown when hovering over a job on the Jobs Gantt Chart is now always correctly populated.
-
Exported job files now correctly include the 'Planned Time on Site' information that was previously missing.
-

-
The Job History screen now gives the name of the job in the title bar.
-
The Jobs Gantt chart now has a Routes column that lists the assigned routes for a driver. Clicking on a route lets you view the route details or make changes such as changing the driver or vehicle assigned to the route. It also now lets you hide drivers without routes.
-
The Jobs Gantt chart now lets you select routes in order to view the actual behavior of the driver and compare it to the planned route.
-

-
The Route dialog now lets you assign names to routes.
